Is Gibbur free?
Yes. Chatting on Gibbur is completely free and you don’t need an account. A free account is optional if you want to save your name and interests.
Is Gibbur anonymous?
Yes. The person you chat with only ever sees you as “Stranger”. They never see your name, email, location or IP address. Learn exactly what anonymous means on Gibbur.
Are my chats saved?
Chat messages are never written to our database. A temporary copy is held in server memory for up to 2 hours so moderators can fight spam and abuse, and then it’s gone for good.

How does matching work?
Add a few interests and we first look for someone who shares one. If nobody matches within a few seconds, we connect you with a random stranger so you’re never left waiting.
Who can use Gibbur?
Gibbur is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Everyone must confirm their age and agree to our Terms and Community Guidelines before chatting.
Can I video chat?
Not yet. Gibbur is text-only today. Video chat is on our roadmap.
What if someone is rude or spamming?
Hit Report. The chat ends immediately, moderators are notified, and people who are reported repeatedly are automatically banned. Read more in our Safety Center.
